Security a top priority at proposed medical marijuana facility in Owen Sound

The medical marijuana production facility proposed for Owen Sound will be one of the most secure buildings in the province once it becomes operational, says the president of the firm behind the plan. “Both our company and Health Canada take security and employee and community safety as an absolute priority,” said Scott Boyes of the Toronto-based Canadian Bioceutical Corporation.

The Canadian Bioceutical Corporation’s subsidiary BioCannabis Products Ltd. submitted late last year an application to Health Canada to become a licenced producer under the federal Marijuana for Medical Purposes regulations…

It plans to operate the facility inside the remaining 155,000-square-foot section of the former PPG plant.

Once in full operation, the company expects the facility will employ up to 100 people…
